Steamed Jasmine Rice

A rice cooker is the surefire way for making perfect rice. A small electric steamer can be bought for under $30.00. Use good quality rice. I like Jasmine Rice because it infuses the rice grains with the fragrance of exotic jasmine flowers. You will find buying rice at an Asian market is considerably cheaper, and better quality, than buying rice at the supermarket. I find that it is not necessary to rinse the rice, it steams fine with just water added.
1 cup Jasmine rice 1 cup water
Place rice in bowl of rice cooker. Add 1 cup of water. Turn on rice cooker. Rice will be ready in about 25-30 minutes. The rice will stay warm in the steamer for another 20 minutes. Add a little salt, dash of toasted sesame oil or toasted sesame seeds for flavor.
