Tally
to Attempt Alexander

Screenwriter
Ted Tally (Red Dragon) has agreed to tackle the writing duties
for a movie to be based on three novels about the life of Alexander
the Great, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The rights to the books are currently being sought by Dino De Laurentiis
who has confirmed that Ridley Scott (Gladiator) is interested
in directing. Tally is expected to complete an outline by the end
of next month, at which point Scott will decide whether to commit.
You'd think he'd be tired of sword and sandal stuff. Or maybe all
those Academy Awards turned his head.
For those of you who spent your high school years at the 7-11, Alexander
the Great was the son of Philip of Macedon (which is not the same
place as modern Macedonia) and conquered most of the known world and
quite a few new bits before dying prematurely at 32.
So, what did you do today? |

1862 - It
was on this day that the Rev. Charles Dodgson told Alice Liddell
and her sisters the story of Alice, who followed a white rabbit
down a hole and entered a magical land. Alice Liddell insisted
that he write it all down.
