Schroder Out of NYPD

Ending weeks of speculation, Rick Schroder has announced that he will not be returning to NYPD Blue as Detective Danny Sorenson. According to the actor's statement, he wants to spend more time with his family (he and his wife are expecting their fourth child in August).

Schroder put in two seasons on the show, following in the footsteps of Jimmy Smits, who in turn was filling the shoes of David Caruso. His departure leaves Dennis Franz as the only original cast member on the show.
