X-Men's
James Marsden (Cyclops) has been signed as Calista Flockhart's love
interest on FOX's Ally McBeal. Producer David E. Kelley was
reportedly looking for someone with some movie acting chops to replace
Robert Downey, Jr. who abruptly left the show following his most recent
arrest (see
story).
Um...yeah. But James Marsden is hardly a replacement is he? Sure,
he's fairly good-looking, but his resume is a lilttle thin and let's
not forget that he played the boring mutant in X-Men.
Downey, on the other hand, is an occomplished actor who raised the
bar on the struggling show.
