Battlestar Galactica to FOX

I've never seen the appeal of Battlestar Galactica. The original series was a totally unmitigated piece of crap, if you ask me. I mean, it had a kid and a fluffy robot pet, fercryinoutloud. But Bryan Singer (X-Men) loved it and his pet project is to create a brand new, updated version.

Doesn't he have anything else to do?

Anyway, according to Zap2It, FOX has ordered a 2-hour pilot from Studios USA which will be directed by Singer (who also exec produces). The updated version will be set after the events of the 70s series (which was famously sued by Lucas for plagiarism). If the pilot gets the numbers, the show will be picked up as a series.

What's next, Buck Rogers in the 25th Century: the Wilderness Years?
