TV Tonight:
Tuesday, March 25th

  by Noah Ruderman

From Hell (HBO)When I first heard that Animal Planet had decided to produce its own brand of television movies, I thought it was a great idea. People who watch Animal Planet obviously enjoy watching animal related stories which should translate well to feature length films. Of course, that optimism was before I found out that Casper Van Dien, star of such landmark films such as Shark Attack and The Omega Code series had been cast as the lead. Big Spender premieres tonight on Animal Planet.

Elsewhere, Buffy and 24 return with original episodes after a long hiatus and HBO airs a grisly movie about one of the first serial killers.

8:00pm
Buffy The Vampire Slayer – UPN – Rumors are circulating that the real reason Sarah Michelle Geller is leaving the series is because she wants to spend more time with her husband, Freddie Prinze Jr. There are other rumors circulating that Freddie is truly boring so at this point I’m not sure what to believe. Nevertheless, the countdown to the end begins tonight with a new episode dealing with Giles’ attempts to end the visions in Spike’s head.
Big Spender – ANML – A convict gets a new lease on life after spending time with a horse. If the movie had been airing on the Playboy network, that synopsis might take on a whole new meaning.

9:00pm
24 – FOX – A new episode of the most exciting show on television? Say it isn’t so! Are you telling me that there isn’t another two-hour marathon of American Idol? I don’t believe it.
From Hell – HBO – Johnny Depp stars as a Scotland Yard investigator searching for Jack the Ripper while trying to romance a prostitute played by Heather Graham. Based on a true story. (Except for that whole ending part where they reveal who Jack the Ripper actually is. I mean, that whole thing hasn’t actually been proven yet.)
