Thanksgiving SOS

  by Helen Stringer

Well, it's that time of year again (didn't we just go through this last week?). Time to cook vast quantities of food for the assembled ravening hordes that come disguised as your family. And are they picky? Everyone has an idea about what should be served at Thanksgiving, and for most people that means no surprises and time to drag out that recipe with the marshmallows that your nearest and dearest just adore but which you suspect would get you drummed out of your cooking newsgroup.

We'll take it as a given that you're going to have turkey, and you probably have your own favorite way of preparing it (though if you'd like to try something different, check out David Ross's Roast Turkey with Cider Beurre Blanc!). Sides and desserts are another thing, however. Well, apart from the thing with the marshmallows. Anyway, we here at The Mediadrome have rifled through all of our recipes and come up with a list of sides and desserts that you may not have tried before, but which would jazz up any Thanksgiving.

Have a go...you'll be glad you did!
